Cheney: Liberals Backstabbed Us on National Security

Never trust a Congressional Democrat.
From
Investor's Business Daily:
Key Democrats like Nancy Pelosi supported the Bush administration's aggressive terrorist surveillance, former Vice President Dick Cheney's new book reveals. They switched only after it was no longer secret.
The Drudge Report on Thursday posted excerpts from the ex-Veep's soon-to-be-published memoir, "In My Time."
They include an account of a classified briefing Dick Cheney took part in along with Democratic congressional leaders Nancy Pelosi, who would become House speaker, former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle, then-House intelligence committee ranking Democrat Jane Harman, and Sen. Jay Rockefeller, former vice chairman of the Senate intelligence committee.
According to Cheney, "The view around the table was unanimous" that the National Security Agency's warrantless wiretapping program should continue and President Bush should not seek further congressional authorization.
"They feared, as did we," Cheney writes, "that going to the whole Congress would compromise its secrecy."
